All About Viking Multi-Sports Summer Camp

Here at Viking Camps, our aim is to give kids a fun way to spend the summer in a sports community environment. Our experienced coaches come from a plethora of different backgrounds in sports, and come together in one inclusive and engaging environment. The enthusiasm that our role model coaches bring to camp is contagious! Just as each coach brings a unique set of expertise to the Viking experience, we believe that each child also brings his or her own set of strengths to camp. We seek to give each child the optimal individual attention to learn and grow as a team player. Our emphasis is on sportsmanship and fun for everyone.

We operate out of Brookline and offer camps in Brookline, Sudbury, Lexington, Arlington, Marblehead, Westward, and Newton. Camp begins every morning at 9:00 am and we have a schedule of fun activities up through 3:00 pm. We also offer early drop off at 8:00 am and extended day options through to 6:00 pm. We break at 10:30 am and 12:30 pm for snack and lunch breaks respectively.

Campers are traditionally sorted into four groups based on age at the time of camp: the Bruins, the Red Sox, the Celtics and the Patriots. All children ages 4 – 13 are eligible to participate in the Viking Multi-Sports Summer Camp Experience. At the end of each day, all campers are mixed into four teams for a camp-wide game, which is a different sport every day. Camp favorites are soccer, handball, capture the flag, and dodge ball.

The Viking spirit of fun and sportsmanship in healthy competition culminates in our famous Tournament Day last day of camp every week. On Thursday, campers are split up into age-mixed teams all competing for that first place slot. Each team moves through various sports-inspired games and ends with a relay race. Campers collect points for their teams in each heat. The trophy ceremony at 3:00 pm on Friday after the completion of the Tournament activities celebrates the efforts of each and every camper. We encourage parents to take part in the ceremony!
